Who thought that making a mess could be so much fun? Or maybe the mess-making just comes naturally when you're surrounded by 11 year old girls in aprons and chef hats, surrounded by food. Well, even if the mess didn't come naturally, but the fun sure did!
Party Stylings recently produced a Stylish Celebration for Kids for Maddie Ridder, the 11 year old daughter of Mom's the Word radio show co-host, Maura Ridder. Maddie loves to cook, so the party she chose was our interactive cooking party. What's extra-special about this party is that the kids actually prepare the food that they eat, and for Maddie's party, she chose a Mexican themed menu with fresh guacamole, quesadillas, and Mexican chicken puffs.
When the girls arrived, they had a chance to decorate and personalize their own aprons and chef hats, which they kept as favors after the party. They were introduced to cooking tools, techniques, and even and interesting new fruit (ever heard of a "horned melon?"). This party allowed them to be creative and to try new things, and their enthusiasm could not be beat. The result was a colorul and fun party full of energy, laughs, and good eats!

Also listen to our interview about the party on the Mom's the Word radio show: 3:00pm MTN on Friday, October 2. Denver area residents can tune their radio to KLZ 560 AM, and anyone can listen to the live stream on www.560thesource.com (allow a few extra minutes to launch the software). Thanks for listening!
